Error description

  • The following fields have wrong attribute defined in CICS PA
    
    Event Capture:
    ECG_EB_EVENT_FILTER_OPS - Total event filtering operations
    ECG_EB_EVENTS_CAPTURED - Total events captured
    ECG_SYS_EVENTS_CAPTURED - Total system events captured
    CAPTURESPEC Resources:
    
    ECC_EVENTS_CAPTURED - Total events captured
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of CICS PA V5.4                    *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The Total events captured field at      *
    *                      Event Capture is always 0.              *
    ****************************************************************
    Currently, the Total events captured field attribute,
    ECG_EB_EVENTS_CAPTURED, in CICS PA is treated as a 4 byte
    integer, causing the field value to appear as 0. It should be an
    8 byte long integer. The following fields are also affected:-
    Event Capture:
    ECG_EB_EVENT_FILTER_OPS - Total event filtering operations
    ECG_SYS_EVENTS_CAPTURED - Total system events captured
    CAPTURESPEC Resources:
    ECC_EVENTS_CAPTURED - Total events captured
    

Problem conclusion

  • The following fields have been corrected to be 8 byte long
    integers:-
    Event Capture:
    ECG_EB_EVENT_FILTER_OPS - Total event filtering operations
    ECG_EB_EVENTS_CAPTURED - Total events captured
    ECG_SYS_EVENTS_CAPTURED - Total system events captured
    CAPTURESPEC Resources:
    ECC_EVENTS_CAPTURED - Total events captured
