Error description

• After applying recent maintenance, the latency may be observed
  to increase by one or two seconds during high workload
  replication, this is not acceptable to highly latency sensitive
  customers.

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: All users of InfoSphere CDC for z/OS.        *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When Db2 indicates to CDC that there is *
  *                      no more data, an internal initial log   *
  *                      poll interval of half a second is set   *
  *                      by the CDC log reader task before the   *
  *                      configured LOGPOLLINTERVAL is used.     *
  *                      This is done to achieve low latency     *
  *                      when there are short intervals of no    *
  *                      log data, however for customers who are *
  *                      highly sensitive to latency issues the  *
  *                      half second initial interval is too     *
  *                      large. It may cause overall latency to  *
  *                      be increased for one or two seconds in  *
  *                      some situations.                        *

  Slight latency increase may be observed for IIDR CDC for DB2
  z/OS after applying recent PTFs.
  

Problem conclusion

• The internal initial log poll interval was reduced to a lower
  value with limited effect on CPU use.
