Error description

  • Change packages may contain commands to delete resources. These
are the resources marked for deletion.

The enhancement provides a user selectable option to include for
CICS region discard processing the change package deletion
    resources as follows:

     1. The discarding option can be specified:
     - in batch, via a parameter for the CCVBMAIN utility INSTALL
     or DISCARD control statements

     - in TSO/ISPF online, via a parameter in the options pop-up
for the change package INSTALL or DISCARD requests.
     2. Only deletion resources matching target CICS Configurations
within the Scheme are processed. Deletion resources for other
CICS Configurations are ignored from selection and discard
     processing.
     3. The processing is limited to CSD based CICS Configurations.
For CICSPlex SM context based CICS Configurations, the option
     is ignored.
     4. The change package deletion resource may or may not exist
     within the target CICS Configurations:

     - If the MIGRATE has run, the CSD resource may be deleted.

     - If the MIGRATE has not run; or the CSD resource has
been recovered, backed out or redefined, then the deletion
resource may exist within the CSD.

Regardless of the delete resource's existent within the target
CICS Configurations, they are selected for discard processing.

     5. For INSTALL,the discard of deletion resources only occurs if
the "Discard resources before Install" option is also selected.

     6. For INSTALL, the deletion resources are only discarded.
They are ignored for install processing.

       4. The change package deletion resource may or may not exist
          within the target CICS Configurations:

            - If the MIGRATE has run, the CSD resource may be
              deleted.

            - If the MIGRATE has not run; or the CSD resource has

          selected.

       6. For INSTALL, the deletion resources are only discarded.
They are ignored for install processing.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS Configuration Manager is enhanced. An option may be set
via the TSO/ISPF online dialog or CCVBMAIN batch utility control
cards to include for discard processing change package resources
associated with CSDs matching the target CICS Configuration in
    the Scheme.
