Error description

  • When a CMAS managing a CPSM Workload ( WLMSPEC ) loses
connectivity with another CMAS that also manages that same
workload (and which has active MASes in the workload) then the
workload is put into a FROZEN state. When connectivity is
restored, the workload is restored to an ACTIVE state.

When a CMAS performs a CPSM warm restart while a workload
is frozen, it should retain the workload in its FROZEN state
if connectivity to those remote MAS regions has not been
restored. Instead it may incorrectly determine that these
MAS regions have terminated, and therefore restore the
    workload to the ACTIVE state.

    * allows the workload to be prematurely *
    *                      reactivated from a frozen state.        *

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the fix for this APAR to all CMASes. *
    * These can be done in independently. *
    ****************************************************************
When a CMAS restarts it determines the status of all MASes
connected to its workloads. The code, after APAR PH37147, gets
this wrong for MASes connected to other CMASes that are
currently down. It incorrectly marks the MASes as terminated
    and the workload as active.

EYUWM0425I xxxxxxxx Target region (xxxxxxxx) for CICSplex
(xxxxxxxx) has been terminated in workload (xxxxxxxx).
EYUWM0421I xxxxxxxx Routing region (xxxxxxxx) for CICSplex
(xxxxxxxx) has been removed from workload(xxxxxxxx).
EYUWM0413I xxxxxxxx Workload (xxxxxxxx) from context (xxxxxxxx)
     has been reactivated from Frozen.

Problem conclusion

  • UI76097 UI76098 UI76099

The code in EYU0TIWS has been updated to correctly determine
the status of any MASes connected to CMASes that are currently
    down.

The EYUWM0413I should not be issued until all the CMASes in the
workload are active, or contact with the affected MAS regions
    is otherwise re-established.
