    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: WebSphere Application Server for z/OS *
    * controller did not have enough storage *
    *                      to create a thread.                     *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    WebSphere Application Server for z/OS controller did not have
    enough storage to create a thread because cpool cells in the
    "SCBBO COMM extra data" cpool are not freed if the request is
    still on the queue when the connection is cleaned up.
    WOLA over Local comm is being used to process the requests.
    The allocated cells have an eye-catcher of BBOCXRCD.
    The following are a few sequences where a BBOCXRCD cell can
    be leaked.
    BBOA1REG BBOA1CNG BBOA1SRQ BBOA1CNR BBOA1RCL BBOA1URG
    BBGA1REG BBGA1CNG BBOA1SRQ BBGA1URG
    BBGA1REG BBGA1CNG BBOA1SRQ
    For the last two the leak only happens if
    CF_Local_Connection_Object_Manager::processAsyncReadComplete
    does not complete before the connection is cleaned up.
    Normal sequence where a cell is not leaked is
    BBGA1REG BBGA1CNG BBGA1SRQ BBGA1RCL BBGA1GET BBGA1CNR BBGA1URG

Problem conclusion

  • Changed the code to delete the requests BBOCXRCD when a
    queued request is being cleaned up.

    The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
    9.0.5.12. For more information, see 'Recommended Updates for
