PH43867: CICS ABEND APXA IN JVM server applications under load

Error description

• APXA occurs in different transactions in heavily
  loaded CICS regions. The affected transactions run more than
  one million times a day without problems, but sometimes an
  APXA occurs at different times.

Problem summary

  During CICS task creation AP domain needs to establish the
  correct profile to be used.
  
  This is done by calling DFHTMP LOCATE for the Profile Table
  (PFT) for each task.
  
  When this code is running on two TCBs concurrently, it is
  possible to hit a small window when the entry being looked for
  is being rechained, so is very briefly not on the chain.
  
  This results in a NOT_FOUND response for the LOCATE and is
  externalized with an APXA abend for one or more of the
  concurrent executions of DFHTMP LOCATE.
  
  The problem can occur for applications running in JVM server
  settings where the concurrent LOCATE could run on different
  T8 TCBs, or a T8 and the QR TCB.

Problem conclusion

• The code in DFHTMP01 was modified so that the rechain is no
  longer done when the table in question is the Profile Table
  (PFT).
