Error description

• When IIDR CDC for z/OS encounters binary data through
  a derived expression, UTF-8 validation causes failure.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a derived expression is used along *
  *                      with binary data, a UTF-8 validation    *
  *                      process can cause failure.              *
  ****************************************************************
  InfoShere CDC for z/OS performs a UTF-8 validation process
  regardless of the type of data passed in. In the case of Binary
  data, UTF-8 validation will cause a failure given the right
  conditions.
  

Problem conclusion

• Binary data passed into a derived expression can cause UTF-8
  validation to be invoked and fail.
