PH43415: IMS ADMINISTRATION TOOL FAILS JCL SYMBOL CONVERSION

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When one JCL symbol has substitution texts that include the
  other JCL symbols, Admin Tool cannot discover correct texts.
  .
  For instance, in the following case, if A$ID=1 is specified to
  User Parms, Admin Tool just converts &ENV to N&A$ID:
  // SET ENV=N&A$ID
  // INCLUDE MEMBER=MEM&ENV
  .
  Admin Tool has to convert &ENV to N1.

  When IMS subsystem is registered to IMS Administration Tool,
  IMS Administration Tool analyzes JCLs of IMS CTL or IRLM region
  to get IMS environment information. However, when one JCL symbol
  has a substitution text that includes the other JCL symbols, IMS
  Administration Tool cannot analyze JCLs correctly. It causes
  Registration failure with MSG ATY3116E, ATY3117E or the other
  messages.
  
  For instance, when a JCL contains the following statements,
  Admin Tool just converts &ENV to N&ID.
  
         SET ID=1
         SET ENV=N&ID
         INCLUDE MEMBER=MEM&ENV
  
  Admin Tool has to convert &ENV to N1.
  

Problem conclusion

• IMS Administration Tool has been modified to register IMS
  subsystem information with converting JCL symbols to
  correct substitution texts.
