PH42282: DFHMQ0704 MESSAGE IS INCORRECT WHEN INQUIRE_TSMODEL FOR DFHCKBR RETURNS A NOT_FOUND

Error description

• After migrating to CICS TS 5.6, a DFHMQ0704 message is issued
  and abend AMQH occurs for CKBR transaction. The DFHMQ0704
  message looks like this but implies the problem occurs on an
  EXEC CICS INQUIRE SYSTEM request:
  
  
  DFHMQ0704 E CKBR 00052 EIBRESP=0 EIBRESP2=0 returned for EXEC
  CICS call. EIBFN=5402
  
  This message shows that the EIBRESP and EIBRESP2 fields contain
  zeroes; EIBFN 5402 is an INQUIRE SYSTEM request.
  
  CICS trace at time of DFHMQ0704 message confirms that the
  INQUIRE SYSTEM request completes normally. The request that
  fails is a call to DFHTSMB for INQUIRE_TSMODEL for DFHCKBR and
  that gets an exception, reason NOT_FOUND. DFHCKBR is new in CICS
  5.6, and is supplied in group DFHMQ. Adding the DFHMQ group to
  the startup GRPLIST resolved the problem.
  
  The text of the message should identify the failing request
  (not the prior request that completed normally).

  A CKBR transaction abends in DFHMQBR0 because the DFHCKBR
  temporary storage queue is not found. The message DFHMQ0704 is
  issued at that time to assist in the diagnosis of the abend, but
  instead provides information that is not relevant.
  

Problem conclusion

• DFHMQBR0 has been amended to issue a new abend code AMQT and a
  more meaningful message if CKBR abends because the DFHCKBR
  temporary storage queue is missing.
  
  Update the IBM Documentation for CICS TS 5.6 with the following,
  after the entry for DFHMQ0796
  
  
  DFHMQ0797 E date time applid Temporary storage queue DFHCKBR not
   found.
  
  Explanation
  The TSModel definition for temporary storage queue DFHCKBR has
  not been defined or installed in the system.
