Problem conclusion

This APAR fix adds the custom property retainProxies default value of false. Setting to a value of true enables this added protection along with the expense of added memory consumption. This should be enabled only at the suggestion of IBM support. The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.5.5.21 & 9.0.5.11.
