Error description

  • When there is a resource type where certain roles only have
    "View Resource" and "Manage children" access.
    If a user with that Role wants to create a sub-resource
    The "Add Group" and "Add Component" actions are greyed out in
    UCD UI.

    Steps to reproduce:
    - Create resource type with permissions mentioned above.
    -- "View Resource"
    -- "Manage children"

    - Try to add a sub resource to this type via UCD GUI
    - The menu actions will be greyed out.

    The action menu items should be available according to the
    defined permissions on this resource.

Local fix

  • The user is still able to add resources via the "Bulk actions"
    menu.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
    * Some row actions for the resources page assert incorrect *
    * permissions when users have custom types. We want to relax *
    * the permissions. The row actions should work the same as the *
    * bulk actions. Specifically, the row actions that show as *
    * bulk actions:                                                *
    *                                                              *
    * Add Components                                               *
    * Add Group                                                    *
    * Tag actions are not row actions and do not need to be *
    * modified/added                                               *
    * Delete is enabled by default, which may have been a bug but *
    * is the correct behavior now. *
    * These add actions should always be enabled but will fail on *
    * the server side if the user does not have the appropriate *
    * permissions. The reason for this is that some configurations *
    * of permissions give a user permission based on the roles and *
    * teams that they specify. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    * Fix is provided in IBM UrbanCode Deploy 7.2.3.0 *
