    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
    * When lots of DDL requests are running, it is possible that *
    * one of the many online change phases associated with the DDL *
    * automatic import times out. IMS appears to hang. It is *
    * waiting for an IMPORT DEFN SOURCE(CATALOG) command to be *
    * issued to finish up the import. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    * INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF                      *
    ****************************************************************
    If lots of DDL requests are running and one of the many online
    change phases times out, the DDL request fails. If a phase
    before the directory changes are committed times out, IMS aborts
    the online change. If a phase after the directory changes are
    committed times out, IMS can't abort the online change and
    leaves the IMSs in an online change state. The DDL requests
    seem to be timing out too frequently.

Problem conclusion

  • DFSOLC00 is changed to preserve the existing timeout value, if
    the new timeout value is zero.
