Problem conclusion
HPPC has been modified to fix the error. After applying this PTF and when the num of VSAM data set extents exceeds 254, HD Pointer Checker sets X'FF' to the associated field HIEXTENT or HXOXTNTS in the HISTORY record. Additionally, the number of the extents is set to the following associated new field of the HISTORY record: - HIEXTNO The value is set when the number of extents in a VSAM database data set except for a HISAM or secondary index overflow data set exceeds 254. - HXOEXTNO The value is set when the number of extents in a HISAM or secondary index overflow data set exceeds 254.
