PH41486: AL LINE COMMAND PANEL ADB21TA ALTER TABLE CHANGING ATTRIBUTE TWICE DOES NOT PROCESS SECOND CHANGE SQLCODE = -601

Obtain the fix for this APAR.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If a user uses line command AL and changes an attribute (for
  example, VALIDPROC) on panel ADB21TA ('Alter Table'), but then
  finds a mistake and attempts to correct it without leaving the
  panel, the correction is not processed properly.  As a result,
  the user may receive an SQLCODE = -601 error. For example:
  
  THE NAME (VERSION OR VOLUME SERIAL NUMBER) OF
  THE OBJECT TO BE DEFINED OR THE TARGET OF A RENAME STATEMENT IS
  IDENTICAL TO THE EXISTING NAME (VERSION OR VOLUME SERIAL NUMBER)
  XXXXX OF THE OBJECT TYPE VALIDPROC
  
  Furthermore, if the customer exits the panel and then re-enters
  it, the attribute still displays the original, uncorrected

Local fix

• Turn on the definition SQL prompt on panel ADB2PRMT by executing
  the 'P' command on the main menu and then the 'PR' command on
  panel ADB2P, and setting 'Definition SQL' to YES.  This should
  allow the user to do more than one alter on the panel.

  On panel ADB21TA, the user issues an AL line command on a table
  to change attributes and changes the wrong attribute.  While
  attempting to change the value back, the second change is not
  processed.  This problem occurs only when the 'Definition SQL'
  prompt on panel ADB2PRMT is set to NO. This problem also occurs
  on panel ADB21TAA.
