PH41049: ABENDU1009 and CNK046E if DB2SORT used to honor the SORT(EXTERNAL request for a logical unload run in SQL mode

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• (HPU 5.1 only) A logical unload ends in ABENDU1009 occurs after
  DB2SORT has terminated in error reported through the message
  CNK046E SORT CAPACITY EXCEEDED.
  
  This occurs when the following conditions are fulfilled:
  - the logical unload is run in SQL mode
  - the logical unload specifies an ORDER clause and the
  SORT(EXTERNAL[,nnn])
  DB2SORT is the selected sort program (through the SORTUTIL
  DB2SORT option if any, or through the setting of the
  VUX037/SORTUTIL parmlib parameter to DB2SORT)
  - the amount of data to sort is big (more accurately it exceeds
  the default or overriden sort capacity settings of Db2 SORT)
  

Local fix

• override the Db2 SORT settings to allocate more work space -
  e.g. by specifying DYNALLOC=(,nnn) in the DB2SORTI dataset - or
  change the unload statement so that the sort is run by DB2 by
  removing the SORT(EXTERNAL[,nnn]) option.
