Error description

  • Your CICS region receives a storage violation reported
    in the following message:

    DFHSM0102 applid tran task# A storage violation (code X'0D11')
has been detected by module DFHSMMF.

When reviewing the dump produced, you notice the following
exception trace entry examining the trace domain:
    TR 0101 TRPT *EXC* - OVERLENGTH-ENTRY : CALLING DOMAIN WAS SM :
                          PARAMETER LIST WAS FUNCTION(TRACE_PUT)
                          POINT_ID(D11) DATA1(address, length)
                          DATA2(address , length)
                          DATA3(address , FFFFFFF8)
                          DATA4(address , length)

The piece of storage violated had a length x'100000' or 1M.
Above notice the negative length FFFFFFF8, which is causing
the trace domain to put out the above exception.
Module DFHSMMF is passing this incorrect length in the
    parameter list.

    Additional symptoms: KIXREVJRL
0F0C RETurn or RET address points to DFHEISC halfword
    overlength DFHSM0102 SM0102 trace negative

DFHSMMF storage check failure procedure takes a fullword
length and manipulates it using a halfword field. This results
in an invalid negative fullword length parameter being passed to
DFHTRPT which reports an OVERLENGTH_ENTRY error.

    Keywords: 0101 TRPT OVERLENGTH-ENTRY DFHSMMF

Problem conclusion

  • The length declaration within DFHSMMF storage check failure
procedure has been changed to allow fullwords.
