APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If the DB2 subsystem that CDC attaches to has undergone a
forceful shutdown or abnormal termination, then after DB2 is
restarted, CDC does not detect DB2's availability and does not
reconnect to the DB2 subsystem

Local fix

  • Recycle the CDC address space

CDC does not automatically connect to DB2 when DB2 recovers from
a forceful shutdown or abnormal termination.

Problem conclusion

  • The CHCDB2DL module was updated to correct the described issue.
