PH40596: INSUFFIECIENT NOTIFICATION FOR AN OUT-OF-MEMORY CONDITION

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Customer is attempting to edit a Column Map (CM) which has one,
  or more, expressions involving the ODPP transformation
  providers.
  The customer's TSO REGION has been defined with insufficient
  size. Optim detects such condition and notifies the user about
  such by presenting a warning panel.
  Customer decides to proceed despite the warning and attempts to
  edit a CM using ODPP providers. The ODPP initialization is not
  successful and Optim shows the
  UNABLE TO INITIALIZE OPTIM DATA PRIVACY LIBRARY
  error message.
  However that message does not explain clearly enough the reason
  for the initialization's failure.
  This should be improved upon.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Optim may produce errors while editing  *
  *                      Column Maps.                            *
  ****************************************************************
  Optim requires a minimum REGION size of 220MB when ODPP
  providers are being utilized, or referenced, under ISPF.
  

Problem conclusion

• This APAR will provide additional diagnostics for the
  out-of-memory conditions which may occur while referencing ODPP
  providers in REGIONs of insufficient size.
