Error description

  • During start up of a CMAS region, the following message occurs:

    EYUCS0108E applid The initialization wait for CMAS connections
    to complete has terminated before all connections have
    completed.

    During startup, a CMAS will wait for up to 5 minutes for all the
    connections to other active CMAS regions to be acquired. The
    EYUCS0108E message is issued if the 5 minutes has expired and
    the connection is not yet established. This message can occur
    during start of the CMAS if the partner CMAS is shutdown around
    the same time.

    There is a small window where during the CMASes start we build
    the list of CMASes to connect to. This list contains the CMASes
    that are currently active in the plex. As the CMAS continues
    with it's start up process, by the time it tries to connect to
    the other CMASes in the list, a CMAS may have been terminated.
    This prevents the connection from being able to be established
    and the EYUCS0108E message occurs.

    * USERS AFFECTED: All CPSM users. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Sometimes a CMAS may appear to hang *
    * during startup. After five minutes, *
    *                      message EYUCS0108E is produced and a    *
    * dump is taken. CMAS startup then *
    *                      continues normally.                     *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: This change affects CMAS regions and will *
    * take effect from the next time the CMAS is *
    *                 restarted.                                   *
    ****************************************************************
    If CMAS A is closed down while CMAS B is starting up and trying
    to connect to CMAS A then CMAS B can wait for up to 5 minutes,
    before it gives up,displays the EYUCS0108E message and takes a
    dump, before resuming start up.

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been modified to check every minute if the CMAS
    we want to connect is still linked to this one.
    If the CICS link goes away, indicating the remote CMAS has shut
    down, then we remove it from the list of CMAS-CMAS connections
    we are trying to establish.
