• When index fast traverse block (FTB) is in use, in a very small
  timing window, index manager used the FTB to position in the
  wrong index leaf page, causing the keys to be returned out of
  order.

  In a very small timing window, SQL query running concurrently
  with index split could position on a wrong index leaf page
  when index fast traverse block (FTB) is used to locate the
  index page. The wrong leaf page causes the index keys to be
  returned out of order, as a result, ABEND04E RC00E72068 AT
  DSNXSRME OFFSET01024 is issued.
  

Problem conclusion

• Db2 code has been modified to detect that when an index leaf
  page is involved in the index split, Db2 will avoid using the
  FTB information to locate the index leaf page, instead the
  index non leaf pages will be used to traverse the index tree.
