Error description

• Transaction hangs during the SSL handshake portion of the Web
  Converse command. The customer expected the RTIMOUT value to be
  honored and stop the transaction from hanging indefinitely
  during the SSL handshake.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: RTIMOUT is not in effect for EXEC CICS  *
  *                      WEB OPEN and WEB SEND commands.         *
  ****************************************************************
  A CICS application is making outbound HTTP requests using the
  EXEC CICS WEB API commands.  The RTIMOUT value from the PROFILE
  associated with the transaction is in effect for socket receives
  issued EXEC CICS WEB RECEIVE and the receive part of the EXEC
  CICS WEB CONVERSE command.  The RTIMOUT value is not used during
  EXEC CICS WEB OPEN, WEB SEND or the send part of WEB CONVERSE.
  
  If CICS needs to send an OPTIONS request as part of these
  commands then RTIMOUT does not get used when receiving the
  OPTIONS response.  Similarly, if SSL is in use then a handshake
  may take place.  RTIMOUT would not be in effect during the
  handshake.
  
  If the remote server becomes unresponsive and abandons the SSL
  handshake or fails to respond at all to the OPTIONS request then
  the CICS task can wait forever for a response.
  

Problem conclusion

• CICS has been updated to allow RTIMOUT to be in effect for EXEC
  CICS WEB OPEN, WEB SEND and the entire WEB CONVERSE command.
  RTIMOUT was already in effect for EXEC CICS WEB RECEIVE and the
  receive part of WEB CONVERSE.
