APAR status

Error description

  • When QCF Unload is performed while an APPC client is reading an
APPC message, QCF UNLOAD gets the LUNAME/TPNAME and returns
AIBREASN=A068. At that time an ABENDS0C4 occurs because QCF
UNLOAD refers to an invalid address when getting the LUNAME /
    TPNAME. Keywords: IQCQMR50 IQCQMR5E S0C4

Local fix

  • A temporary workaround for this ABEND is to refrain from running
QCF UNLOAD (refrain from deleting messages using QCF ISPF user
interface) when the APPC Client is reading the message.

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
When QCF Unload encounters an A068 (REQUESTED DEST IS BEING
READ) during the Unload process of the APPC destination, it
causes 0C4 because it treats incorrectly the LUNAME string
    field as an address field.

Problem conclusion

  • QCF has been changed to treat the LUNAME/TPNAME correctly.
