    * Release 5: TCPIP users of SMF *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
    * TCPIP does not record SMF Type 118, 119 records due to *
    * encountering an error when writing the SMF record. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    * Apply the PTF.                                               *
    ****************************************************************
    When TCPIP attempts to create an SMF Type 118 or Type 119 record
    for Telnet or FTP subtypes, the stack calls EZBITSMF to write
    the record. Whether this call is successful is dependent on the
    value that is in low core at address 1.

Problem conclusion

  • The code is amended to pass parameters that build the SMF Type
    118 or Type 119 record by value before invoking EZBITSMF.
