    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DR preparation job fails to delete *
    * SUBSYS record and terminates process *
    *                      with CC=08 and MSGBSY0418E - BSY@YDBC   *
    *                      - DBRC EXEC function failed.            *
    ****************************************************************
    IMS Recovery Expert Disaster Recovery (DR) preparation job fails
    with RC=08 and the following:
    1) message in the job log BSYERROR DD
     BSY0418E - BSY@YDBC - DBRC EXEC function failed
    2) message in the job log DBRCMSGS DD
      CHANGE.SUBSYS  SSID(ssid) ABNORMAL
     DSP0169I BATCH BACKOUT IS NOT NEEDED FOR SUBSYSTEM
     DSP0169I  SSIDNAME=ssid
     DSP0203I COMMAND COMPLETED WITH CONDITION CODE 00
     DSP0220I  COMMAND COMPLETION TIME yy.ddd hh:mm:ss.ssssss
      CHANGE.SUBSYS  SSID(BSYDLIBA) STARTRCV
     DSP0166I SUBSYSTEM RECORD NOT FOUND IN RECON
     DSP0166I  SSIDNAME=ssid
     DSP0209I PROCESSING TERMINATED WITH CONDITION CODE = 12
     DSP0217I THE FOLLOWING SYSIN RECORDS HAVE BEEN SKIPPED:
      CHANGE.SUBSYS  SSID(ssid) ENDRECOV
      DELETE.SUBSYS  SSID(ssid)

    DR preparation process deletes subsystem (SUBSYS) records in
    the RECON data set for DR. To delete SUBSYS records, DR
    preparation job issues a series of DBRC commands:
     1) CHANGE.SUBSYS ABNORMAL
     2) CHANGE.SUBSYS STARTRCV
     3) CHANGE.SUBSYS ENDRCV
     4) DELETE.SUBSYS
    However, if SUBSYS status does not need any DB batch backout,
    CHANGE.SUBSYS ABNORAML command deletes SUBSYS record and
    the other commands fail due to target subsystem already deleted.
    IMS Recovery Expert cannot handle this case, and DR Preparation
    job fails.

Problem conclusion

  • IMS Recovery Expert has been fixed to handle the case described
    in the PROBLEM SUMMARY section.
