APAR status

  • Closed as new function.

Error description

  • A sequential image copy produced during LOAD REPLACE will not
contain updates made to the table space to correct unique index
violations during INDEXVAL phase or referential constraint
    violations during the ENFORCE phase.
LOAD will be changed to include the changed data pages caused by
updates in the INDEXVAL and ENFORCE phases, and therefore
keeping the sequential image copy consistent with the database
objects affected by the LOAD statement.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
Currently it is not recommended to use the sequential image
copy produced by LOAD REPLACE as a recovery point. A
sequential inline image copy is created before the INDEXVAL
and ENFORCE phases are executed, and any deletion of records
because of unique index or referential integrity constraint
violations are not in the sequential image copy.

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix

Comments

  • LOAD REPLACE SHRLEVEL NONE or REFERENCE is modified so that
requested sequential inline image copies include any changed
data pages caused by updates during the INDEXVAL and ENFORCE
phases. Sequential image copies are requested by the existing
LOAD options COPYDDN and RECOVERYDDN. For the case where
ENFORCE YES and INDEXDEFER NONE is specified, this full
image copy can be used safely as a recovery point. This
enhancement does not require any new keyword to be
    specified.
This APAR also introduces a new TTYPE column value in
    SYSIBM.SYSCOPY. When ICTYPE=F and STYPE=R, a new TTYPE value
of V indicates that this inline sequential image copy
created by LOAD contains pages updated during the INDEXVAL
and ENFORCE phases. Rows that were loaded with unique index
violations, referential constraint violations, or index
evaluation errors were removed from pages in the image copy.
The image copy can be safely used with point-in-time
recovery and RECOVER will no longer issue warning message
    DSNU527I in this scenario.
