Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: Optim users requesting a listing of the *
    * archive entries within the Archive *
    * Directory via the batch DIRECTORY process *
    * or deleting entries via the batch DELETE *
    *                 process.                                     *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a batch DIRECTORY or DELETE *
    * process request is executed there is a *
    * possibility of exhausting all available *
    * storage due to an abundance of entries *
    * within the Optim directory. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the fix provided. *
    ****************************************************************
When a batch DIRECTORY or DELETE request is
processed and the NAME parameter is either
absent or is generic enough to result in a significant
number of entries being retrieved, storage may be
exhausted due to the number of dependent
    extended objects each entry includes.

Problem conclusion

  • The logic employed to manage the storage consumed
by the DIRECTORY and DELETE processes has been
revised to make better use of it by not retaining that which is
    unnecessary.
