PH38974: CORRECT PROCESSING ORDER WHEN ALTERING A TABLE ON AN ACCELERATOR

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When executing an ALTER of a table in an accelerator, where the
  ALTER does not require a DROP and CREATE of the table, the
  processing order should be:
  
  1) Disable replication in IDAA on the table.
  
  2) Remove the table from IDAA.
  
  3) Perform the table alter in Db2.
  
  4) Add the table back to IDAA.
  
  5) Enable replication in IDAA on the table.
  
  6) Initial data load on the table in IDAA.
  
  7) Enable acceleration in IDAA on the table.

  Currently, when altering an accelerated table, the resulting WSL
  contains the following ADMIN ACCELERATOR statements in this
  order: RECREATE, ENABLE, LOAD, ENABLE.
  
  With this APAR, the statements and the order of operations are
  changed. The table will be removed from the accelerator before
  making any changes to the table. Afterwards, the table will be
  added back to the accelerator. The new order will be: DISABLE,
  DELETE, any alter to the table, ADD, ENABLE (repl), LOAD,
  ENABLE (accel).
