PH38836: S0C6 ABEND IN MODULE EYU0XZPT AFTER THE CMAS UPGRADE TO 5.6

Error description

• After you upgrade part of the CMAS regions to 5.6, you might
  experience S0C6 abend in module EYU0XZPT when you run your
  legacy CPSM API program with "VERSION(0320)" specified in the
  EXEC CPSM CONNECT command.

Local fix

• Change the VERSION(0320) to VERSION(new_release), and recompile
  the CPSM API program
  

Problem summary

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Abend S0C6 can occur in a CMAS          *
  *                      region, in module EYU0XZPT, when        *
  *                      EYU0MOXT tries to put exception         *
  *                      trace entry for CONVERT transformation  *
  *                      failure.                                *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: This fix affects CMAS regions and will take  *
  *                 effect from the next CMAS restart.           *
  *                 The CMAS restarts may occur in any order.    *
  ****************************************************************
  EYU0MOXT writes an exception trace point if an error occurs
  while performing resource table conversion. This may be required
  where there is a difference between the CPSM API connect version
  of an application, and the CMAS CICSPlex SM version.
  When EYU0MOXT calls trace_put to write this exception trace
  point, data related to the fields and resources being converted
  are also traced. However EYU0MOXT passes an incorrect value
  required to locate the ALET to address the data being traced.
  
  When EYU0XZPT attempts to use this input to locate the ALET
  it is unable to load the correct ALET value.
  This causes a specification exception, resulting in the abend
  S0C6 in EYU0XZPT in the CMAS.
  This manifests itself with the following message in the CMAS
  region, beginning with:
      EYUXL0905E ASRA IN XZPT, OFFSET 00000C00
  

Problem conclusion

• EYU0MOXT trace_put call for the CONVERT exception trace point
  (mos_cnvt_xcpt), to pass the correct ALET token value, to
  ensure EYU0XZPT can address and locate the correct ALET value
  for the passed in data item.
