Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server Load * * Balancer users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A crash may occur on the backup load * * balancer when replicating connections * * and using NAT forwarding. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When the load balancer is forwarding multiple NAT connections, a concurrency problem may occur which corrupts data in the replication record sent to the partner load balancer. The replication record will contain an invalid port number. When the backup load balancer processes the replication record, a crash will occur.
Problem conclusion
Corrected the code so that the backup load balancer does not crash when invalid replication records received. Also corrected NAT processing concurrency such that the replication record is not corrupted. Fix levels: 8.5.5.20 9.0.5.9
