Error description
A transaction in a routing region issues a START to a target region and also uses HANDLE ABEND RESET, so that if the mirror transaction in the target region is no longer present, eg receiving abend with AZI2 or AZI4, it then retries the START. This process works the first time, but any further fault results in Language Environment abendu4082 reason 00000003 ( rc03 ). In CICS TS 5.4, the process worked multiple times. The process no longer works in CICS TS 5.6. . Additional keywords: U4082-03 U4082-3 U4082-RC03

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: EXEC CICS START suffers LE abend 4082. * **************************************************************** A CICS program running under Language Environment (LE) issues EXEC CICS HANDLE ABEND to recover from anticipated abend situations. The program then issues an EXEC CICS START command which experiences an anticipated abend. CICS enters HANDLE ABEND processing. CICS calls LE to perform Rununit_End_Invocation - passing incorrect application registers because DFHEIIC has previously issued a DFHRMCAL context switch call which has driven DFHEIP recursively. LE issues ABEND 4082. The CICS transaction does not recover from the abend situation and terminates. Problem conclusion
CICS Interval Control processing (EXEC CICS START) has been modified to preserve application registers.
