Error description

  • A workflow stage is configured with a task view override, where
the grid view can be set to be Read Only so that users cannot
    add/associate.
This all works fine prior to the tabbed group feature introduced
    in 8.2.0.2.
After redesigning the task view to incorporate the tabbed group
feature, the grid view is no longer visible or selectable in the
    task view override configuration.

However, if the configurations are already in-place, they still
work, but the task view override screen shows a blank where the
    field is supposed to show.

    Prerequisites:

    1.	Create a task view
    a.	Login to the OpenPages Task UI as OpenPagesAdministrator
    b.	Administration Menu (Cogwheel) -> Views -> ?Add New?
    c.	Select Object type as ?Issue? and in Rules tab, select the
    current profile
    d.	In the task view page, ?Add Section? and drag ?Issue Type?,
and ?Tab Group? into the section
    e.	Enter a name for the ?Tab Group? and click on ?Done?
    f.	Drag a Grid into the ?Tab Group?, Select Relationship Type as
?Children?, Object Type as ?Action Item? and select Actions as
    ?Associate? and click on ?Done?
    g.	Drag an another ?Grid? into the ?Tab Group?, select
Relationship Type as ?Children?, Object Type as ?File? and
select Actions as ?Associate? and click on ?Done?
    h.	Click on ?Publish?

    2.	Create sample data
    a.	Test the workflow using an Issue by creating a business
entity, Primary Menu -> Organization -> Business Entities.
    b.	?Add New? -> ?Enter a name? and click on ?Save?
    c.	Create an Issue, Primary Menu -> Remediation -> Issues
    d.	?Add New? -> fill in the required fields, select the newly
created Business Entity in ?Select Impacted Business Entity? and
    click on ?Save?.

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1.	Test the workflow
    a.	Login to the OpenPages Task UI as OpenPagesAdministrator
    b.	Administration Menu (Cogwheel) -> Workflows -> ?Add New?
    c.	Select Object type as ?Issue?
    d.	In the workflow page, create a new workflow stage by dragging
a stage to the workflow window
    e.	In Stage Properties -> under ?Task View Overrides?, select
the newly created task view from the drop down in ?View?
    f.	Under ?Fields? -> ?Add Field?, in the ?Field Name? drop down,
confirm that you cannot select any of the grid views that are
    included in the task view.

    2.	Update the view to remove ?Tab Group?
    a.	Administration Menu (Cogwheel) -> Views -> select the newly
    created view
    b.	Drag both the Grids out of ?Tab Group? into the same section,
remove the ?Tab Group? and ?Publish?

    3.	Update the workflow
    a.	Administration Menu (Cogwheel) -> Workflows -> Select the
    newly created Workflow
    b.	Click on the stage that was created before, in Stage
Properties -> under ?Task View Overrides? -> ?Fields? -> ?Add
    Field?
    c.	Both the Grids should now be visible in the ?Field Name? drop
    down
    d.	Select a Grid, toggle ?Read Only? to set it as ?True?
    e.	Click on ?Done?
    f.	Repeat ?step b? to ?step e?, to add the other Grid.
    g.	Drag a new stage and enter the ?Label? as End and select the
    ?Type? as End
    h.	Connect the Stages (Start->Stage 2->End) by entering the
Action Label and Publish the workflow

    4.	Test the Workflow (not required to reproduce the issue)
    a.	Primary Menu ->Remediation -> Issues
    b.	Select the newly created Issue.
    c.	Check that the grid?s associate actions (?Associate Action?
for both the Grids and ?Add/Update? for Grid with File object
type) are visible before starting the workflow
    d.	Click on ?Actions? button on the top right corner and click
on the workflow to start its execution.
    e.	Check that when the execution is at the stage2, the grid?s
associate actions are not visible as the fields are in read only
    mode.
    f.	Continue with the next Action in the workflow and the grid?s
associate actions should be visible again
    g.	In the Workflow page, check the Field names are visible

    5.	Update the view by adding the fields in a ?Tab Group? and
    test the Workflow
    a.	Administration Menu (Cogwheel) -> Views -> select the newly
    created view
    b.	Drag a ?Tab Group? into the section and enter a name
    c.	Drag both the Grids inside the ?Tab Group? and ?Publish?
    d.	In the Workflow page, check that the Field names are not
    visible
    h.	In the Issue page, check the layout has changed to tab view
and the grid?s associate actions (Associate Action for both the
Grids and Add/Update for Grid with File type) are visible before
    starting the workflow
    i.	Start the workflow and check that when the execution is at
the stage2, the grid?s associate actions are not visible as the
fields are in read only mode.
    j.	Continue with the next Action in the workflow and the grid?s
associate actions should be visible again

Even though the fields are not visible in the workflow?s stage
properties, the associate actions are not visible when the
workflow execution is at stage where the fields are configured
to be in read only mode.

    Expected Results:
Fields from a tabbed group should be visible in the workflow
when setting the task view override.

    Actual Results:
Fields from a tabbed group are not visible in the workflow, but
it will still work if it was pre-configured in the workflow and
    then added to tabbed group.

Local fix

  • Pre-configure the fields without tabbed group in workflow and
then add the fields to tabbed group afterwards.
