Error description

  • During an IAG2 batch format process, an ABEND 04E 00C90101 was
seen in DSNIBHRE with ERQUAL 5007 since the allocated first data
segment was reallocated. Also, after ALTER to IAG2 message
DSNI087I was seen for each part without the message DSNI055I on
a table with APPEND YES. The MSGDSNI055I should only be issued
    for APPEND NO tables.

    Additional symptoms: DB2IAG2/K MSGDSNI087I

    ****************************************************************
    1. During segment allocation for IAG2's batch format process,
a timing window allowed the first data segment being
re-allocated due to an incorrect serialization process. This
caused recover log-apply process hitting DSNIBHRE:5007 abend.
    2. The IAG2 message code DSNI055I was only issued for tables
    defined with APPEND NO.

Problem conclusion

  • 1. Db2 code is modified to avoid serialization problems
during the segment allocation for IAG2's batch format process.
    2. Db2 code is modified to issue the message DSNI055I for
tables defined with either APPEND YES or APPEND NO. Accept
cases where the current partition is full and the row has to
be inserted in another partition, there is no need to re-enable
IAG2 in the current partition, hence message DSNI055I is not
    issued.
