APAR status

Error description

  • When the charset utf8 is specified with double quotes, the Wink
JAXRS implementation fails, because the quotes are unexpected.
Other implementations like CXF just ignore the quotes and accept
that charset definition.

In JAXRS 1.1, specifying a charset="UTF-8" vs. charset=UTF-8
may result in an UnsupportedEncodingException.

Problem conclusion


    

  • Adjusted the Wink RequestProcessor code to tolerate the
quotation marks around the charset.

The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix packs
9.0.5.9 and 8.5.5.21. For more information, see 'Recommended
