APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Description:
    When you select the stage assignee as a fixed group, only direct
    users under that group are assigned and indirect users of that
    group are not assigned.
    
    Workaround:
    Set the stage assignee to the group and all the sub-groups.
    
    Prerequisites:
    A)	OpenPages with solutions installed
    
    B)	Create a user
    1.	Log into OpenPages as OpenPagesAdministrator
    2.	At top-right side, click the cogwheel icon > Users and
    Security > Users
    3.	Click Create User
    4.	Enter user01 as User Name, fill in any other required field
    and click Save
    5.	Under Role Assignments section, click Assign Roles
    6.	Select ?ORM ? All Permissions? as the Role Template
    7.	Under Security Domain click Choose
    8.	Select the root (/) and click Done
    9.	Click Add
    
    C)	Create the groups
    1.	At top-right side, click the cogwheel icon > Users and
    Security > Domains & Groups
    2.	At left side, click Groups tab and then click Workflow,
    Reporting and Others
    3.	Under Groups section, click New
    4.	Enter Group01 as the Name and click Add
    5.	Click Group01and under Groups section, click New
    6.	Enter SubGroup01 as the Name and click Add
    7.	Click SubGroup01 and under Users section, click Add
    8.	Under Users section, click Add
    9.	Select user01 and click Add
    
    D)	Create the workflow
    1.	At top-right side, click the cogwheel icon > Solution
    Configuration > Workflows
    2.	Click Add New
    3.	Enter the following and then click Add
    a.	Name = Issue WF
    b.	Object type = Issue
    c.	Type = Manual Start
    4.	Create a new Stage (Stage2) and then expand Assignees and
    Subscribers
    5.	Click Add Assignee
    6.	Enter Group01 and click Done
    7.	Create a new Stage and set Type = End
    8.	Join Start to the Stage2 and then expand Conditions
    9.	Click Add Condition
    10.	Select the following and then click Done
    a.	Compare = End User
    b.	Using. Operator = in group
    c.	To = A specified value
    d.	Value = Group01
    11.	Join Stage2 to End and then click Publish
    
    Steps to Reproduce:
    1.	Log into OpenPages as user01
    2.	At top-left side, click the principal menu icon > Remediation
    > Issues
    3.	Click Add New
    4.	Fill in the required fields and click Save
    5.	Click Action and notice the Start Issue WF option is
    available, indicating that the system is recognizing user01 is
    in Group01 for the Condition set on prerequisites step D.8-10.
    6.	Click Action > Start Issue WF and then click Continue
    7.	Notice that now the Action button is not available,
    indicating that the system is not recognizing user01 as an
    Assignee even though it was set to Group01 in prerequisites step
    D.4-6
    
    Expected Results:
    User01 should be recognized as an assignee even though it is
    assigned in a subgroup
    
    Actual Results:
    The system is recognizing as assignee only the direct users in
    groups and not the users in sub-groups
    
    Error Message:
    Not found
    

Local fix

  • Set the stage assignee to the group and all the sub-groups.
