Error description

• The compiler produces an IGYCB7317-W message for a statement
  that contains no reference modification, although there is a
  reference modification on a closely prior statement.

  When a data item is used in a reference modification, the
  compiler generates internal state to indicate that the bounds of
  the reference modification should be checked, if possible.
  The optimizer sometimes incorrectly modifies the
  compiler's internal state to indicate that different data items
  should be checked.
  

Problem conclusion

• The compiler was fixed to avoid checking reference modification
  bounds for data item s that are not reference-modified.
