PH36588: INCORRECT DIFFERENCE IN DSSIZE REPORTED IN OBJECT COMPARE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If a TS does not have a DSSIZE specified, a difference may be
  reported in Object Compare for DSSIZE where there actually is
  none.  For example, if one TS has an explicit DSSIZE of 4G, and
  the DSSIZE for the other TS is not specified, the following
  difference may appear on the Object Comparison Report:
  
  Compare tablespace source(xxxxxxx.xxxxxx) and target
  (xxxxxxx.xxxxxx)
  (A)Field DSSIZE changed from 4G to 2G.
  
  This difference should not be reported, because the default
  DSSIZE is 4G, not 2G.

  The DDL Reader might generate the incorrect default DSSIZE value
  of 2gb for partition-by-range and partition-by-growth table
  spaces. As a result, if one tablespace specifies a DSSIZE value
  equivalent to the default (4gb), and one does not, Object
  Compare reports a difference between the two tablespaces where
  none exists.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem has been resolved.
