Error description

  • ERROR DESCRIPTION:Ø
    com.ibm.ws.cache.CacheConfig.batchUpdateMilliseconds does not
    affect the batch update daemon on the receiving side of
    replication. This causes the object to only be replicated
    after 1 second.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Cache updates are not processed by the *
    * replication partner servers within the *
    *                      batchUpdateMilliseconds defined         *

    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The custom property
    com.ibm.ws.cache.CacheConfig.batchUpdateMilliseconds was
    intended
    to process cache updates faster then the one second push
    interval. However, when the property is set only the daemon
    that
    sends cache updates to partner servers uses the property. The
    daemon on the servers receiving the replication updates
    continues
    to run every second.

Problem conclusion

  • The update daemon that processes cache updates from replication
    partner servers or servants will wake up as defined by the
    batchUpdateMilliseconds custom property.
