APAR status

Error description

  • Enabling a table for replication with IBM Integrated
Synchronization in IBM Db2 Analytics Accelerator or IBM Db2 for
z/OS Data Gate may fail if the table was created with a Db2 for
z/OS version prior to V4 and the table has a DECIMAL or
    a TIMESTAMP column.
When enabling replication, the table schema is looked up by
IBM Integrated Synchronization and fails to retrieve the
information due to missing information in the table OBD.

    ****************************************************************
When enabling replication for a table, the table schema is
looked up by IBM Integrated Synchronization in Db2 for z/OS in
the internal object descriptor (OBD). Some information may be
missing in the OBD because the column was created in earlier
versions of Db2 for z/OS. The missing data is then read from
the Db2 catalog. This catalog lookup failed because the creator
and table name used for the catalog lookup are only present in
the OBD if the table was created in Db2 for z/OS V4 or newer.

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been fixed to determine the creator and table name for
old OBDs from the catalog as well.
The PTF for this APAR also adds the collection of additional
diagnostics data for the Integrated Synchronization protocol
    to enhance product serviceability.
