Error description

  • The issuance of the message "DFHDS0102 The current CPU /
dispatch ratio for the QR TCB is nnn.nn%" is issued for less
    then 100% CPU/DISP ratio and for 100% CPU/DISP Ratio. The 100%
CPU / dispatch ratio indicates CPU/DISP ratio is fine. It is
the less than 100% which would need to be evaluated. A better
use of this message, DFHDS0102, is if it were issued only when
the QR TCB CPU / Dispatch ratio was less than 100%. This would
then alert of CPU / dispatch ratio for the QR TCB not running at
    100 percent.

the region is not busy and there is no ability to prevent these
    messages from being issued.

Problem conclusion

  • The algorithm has been improved to only issue the message if
the QR TCB has been dispatched for more that 5% of the current
interval between now and the previous DFHDS0102 message.
In addition, the user is now able to prevent these messages
from being issued by adding the following to the system
    initialisation table
    INITPARM=(DFHQRCPU='00')
Message DFHDS0102 has been changed to include the dispatch /
interval ratio for the QR TCB

The CICS Transaction Server Messages and Codes have been
    updated as follows

Message DFHDS0102 has been changed to read
DFHDS0102 date time applid The current QR TCB CPU / dispatch
ratio is nn.nn% and the dispatch / interval ratio is nn.nn%.

    Explanation
The ratio (expressed as a percentage) of the accumulated CPU
time to the accumulated dispatch time for the QR TCB and also
the dispatch / interval ratio of the QR TCB. Subject to being
reset, these numbers provide the average utilization and the
average saturation of the QR TCB for the current interval.
If the message states that the CICS statistics have been reset,
the ratios will not be a true reflection for the current
    interval.

    SystemAction
Processing continues. The suspend interval uses the default
    value of 5 minutes.

    User Response
The ratios are dependent on the CICS workload and machine
utilization for the current interval and are for information
    only.
Note that this message is not issued if the dispatch / interval
ratio for the current interval is less than 5 percent.
See <xref keyref="explaining.the.qr.tcb.ratio"/> for advice on
    how to interpret these ratios.
This message is issued, by default, every 5 minutes. To change
the frequency of this message specify system initialization
parameter INITPARM=(DFHQRCPU='nn') as a system initialization
parameter where 'nn' is a number between 01 and 59 minutes. The
message can be suppressed by specifying a value of '00'.

    Module
    DFHQRCPU

    Message DFHDS0104 has been added
DFHDS0104 date time applid The INITPARM value specified for
module DFHQRCPU is zero. DFHDS0102 messages will not be issued.

    Explanation
A value of zero has been specified on the
    INITPARM=(DFHQRCPU='nn') system initialization parameter.

    SystemAction
Transaction CQPR terminates and no DFHDS0102 messages will be
issued for this run of CICS.

    UserResponse
    System initialization parameter INITPARM=(DFHQRCPU='00') has
been specified, indicating that the user does not want to
monitor the utilization of the QR TCB.
