Error description

  • Db2 Admin : MTC: Register of target changes passes even when
associated target table fails to update, plus issues with
    ANO/RNO line commands

When registering a multi-target change, the central change and
target changes are stored in ADBCHG. Table ADBCHGAT stores
information on how the central change and target changes are
associated. When the target change owner and name are to be
automatically generated (the CM target can be defined as either
AUTO or MTC), there can be an error when updating ADBCHGAT with
this information. However, the error is not reported, and
    registration appears successful.

This APAR also addresses an issue with the ANO/RNO line commands
on a central change that might lead to an ISPF dialog error.
    Example error:

    Function : SYSICMD, LINE 381: If adb121ac <> "" | $genalla =
    'YES' then
Zerrsm : Novalue condition raised for variable ADB121AC
Zerrlm : Error executing exec - now terminating

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Errors during multi-target registration *
    * might go unseen, causing the analyze *
    * function to behave unexpectedly. *
    *                                                              *
    *                      Additionally, the ANO/RNO line commands *
    * might result in an ISPF dialog error. *
    ****************************************************************
When a multi-target change is registered and the target
changes are to be automatically named, table ADBCHGAT needs to
    be updated with this information.

If this update fails, the register job still passes. Attempting
to analyze the central change afterward results in the target
    change being skipped.

The scope of the APAR is to ensure ADBCHG and ADBCHGAT are in
sync after the registration process. Otherwise, if they are not
in sync, new error message ADB9981E is returned. Example:

ADB9981E Table ADBCHGAT could not be updated for a target
    change.
             Details of the target change:
               Change owner . . . : USER01
               Change name . . . : EXAMPLE:TARGET:LOCATION

This APAR also addresses an issue with the ANO/RNO line commands
on a central change that might lead to an ISPF dialog error.
    Example error:

    Function : SYSICMD, LINE 381: If adb121ac <> "" |
    $genalla = 'YES' then

Zerrsm : Novalue condition raised for variable ADB121AC
Zerrlm : Error executing exec - now terminating
