This PTF addresses the following problems:

    - Users may observe slow response times when accessing LCP panel
VPCPLCS3 to retrieve Safeguarded backup volume statistics. The
user may also see a corresponding increase in virtual storage
utilization at the same time. This behavior is more likely in
LCP configurations with 5K or more Safeguarded backup volumes
plus a high number of Safeguarded captures per volume (i.e. 200
    or more).

    - The FILTER CYLS(nnnn,GT|LT) command in panel VPCPLCS3 is
rejected with message 'Invalid FILTER syntax specified' when the
user specifies one of the following filter masks: nnnnK or nnnnM
    or nnnnnG

    - Prior to this PTF, the LCP=RELEASE PROFILE(name)
VERSION(EXPIRED) was rejected when there were no expired
FlashCopy captures to release. Now this script statement is not
rejected but instead ends with a warning message GEO2942W
    indicating zero captures were released.

    - When a Safeguarded capture is successfully taken, LCP issues a
message detailing the user impact time. This message was not
prefixed with a formal GDPS GEOnnnnn message identifier. This
PTF now prefixes this message with message identifier GEO2957I.

Problem conclusion

  • DOCUMENTATION CHANGES
The following changes will be reflected in a future revision of
the GDPS Message and Codes (ZG24-6762). There is a new message
GEO2957I, and message GEO2942W has a new insert value to
differentiate between SAFEGUARD and FLASHCOPY captures. Refer to
    the ++HOLD(DOC) for message text.
