PH34699: ALT WSL GENERATED JCL MISSING DISP PARAMETER SPECIFIED IN USER-DEFINED TEMPLATE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The DISP parameter specified in a user-defined
  template may be ignored in an ALT WSL and run job JCL.  This may
  cause the disposition of utility-related files to be other than
  intended.
  
  For example, the user may want to specify
  DISP=(MOD,DELETE,CATLG) for the LOAD utility files
  ERRDNN, MAPDDN, and WORKDDN(1,2).  This would ensure that these
  temporary work files would be deleted if the load were
  to succeed, and retained in the event of an abend.  However, the
  WSL and run job JCL do not have DISP coded at all.  As a result,
  these work files may be retained even upon successful completion
  of the job.

  When the ALT command is used, user-defined templates are
  specified, and 'Use templates' is set to YES, the templates
  created in the JCL for ERRDNN, MAPDDN, WORKDDN(1,2) do not
  include the DISP values that were given in the user-defined
  template. If, for example, a DISP value of DELETE is specified,
  then temporary work files will be retained instead of being
  deleted.
