PH34542: DRF ICR JOB WITH ICNOTIFY(DRF) DOES NOT REGISTER IC IN RECON

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When running DRF ICR job with the ICNOTIFY(DRF) option to create
  an incremental image copy, the generated image copy is not
  registered in RECON.
  ICNOTIFY(DRF) and OUTPUT(ICR) are mutually exclusive parameters
  in the design of DRF, but the specification of these parameters
  is not restricted by the DRF logic. Also, the DRF manual (UG)
  does not describe the restriction.

  When running DRF ICR job with the ICNOTIFY(DRF) option to
  create an incremental image copy, the generated image copy is

  ICNOTIFY(DRF) and OUTPUT(ICR) are mutually exclusive parameters
  in the design of DRF, but the specification of these parameters
  is not restricted by the DRF logic.
  ICNOTIFY(DRF) is valid only when the OUTOUT option is PRO
  or BOTH. If ICNOTIFY(DRF) is specified with an OUTPUT option
  other than PRO or BOTH, ICNOTIFY(DRF) must be overridden with
  ICNOTIFY(HPIC).
  

Problem conclusion

• DRF is modified so that if ICNOTIFY(DRF) is specified with an
  OUTPUT option other than PRO or BOTH, ICNOTIFY(DRF) is
  overridden with ICNOTIFY(HPIC).
