Error description

  • The crossport will not function with more than 2 ports

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server Load *
    *                  Balancer for IPv4 and IPv6                  *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The crossport affinity function does *
    * not work when more than two ports are *
    *                      linked.                                 *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The crossport function allows client affinity to be maintained
    across multiple ports. For example, if client traffic should
    go to the same server for http(80) and https(443).
    The crossport function does not work when crossport is defined
    between more than two ports.
    - An incorrect crossport will be displayed for a port
    - Crossport settings will not be stored correct in the LB
    configuration file
    - affinity will not be maintained correctly across the ports

Problem conclusion

  • A prior unnecessary code restriction was implemented in version
    7 (PM10745) which modifies the original port to link back to
    the crossport. This introduced problems when more than two
    ports are linked.

    Code was corrected to remove this restriction.
    Fix levels:
       8.5.5.20
       9.0.5.8
