PH34230: ABEND0C6 IEAVTRG1 FOLLOWING A STORED PROCEDURE TIMEOUT

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Following a stored procedure timeout, an ABENDS0C6 in IEAVTRG1
  occurs.  The error happens when DB2 FRR DSNVSRRX tries to
  return to RTM with a BR 14 instruction instead of a BSM 0,14

  When FRR DSNVSRRX receives control, a Branch And Set Mode (BSM)
  instruction is executed to set the addressing mode in register
  14 that contains the RTM return address.  If addressing mode is
  64-bit, bit position 63 of register 14 is set to 1.  This
  causes a branch to an odd address when DSNVSRRX does a BR R14
  to exit to RTM.
  

Problem conclusion

• DSNVSRRX has been updated to exit to RTM using a Branch and
  Set Mode instruction.
