  *                      update mode under the following         *

  *                      - Access method of input DB data set is *
  *                        VSAM ESDS or KSDS                     *
  *                      - The data set is unformatted, and      *
  *                        formatted data set that is processed  *
  *                        after unformatted one is processed.   *

  *                      is not permitted update access by RACF, *
  *                      the image copy process is failed.       *

  Image Copy function of IMS HP Image Copy accesses database data
  sets with update mode under the following conditions:
  - Access method of input DB data set is VSAM ESDS or KSDS
  - The data set is unformatted, and formatted data set that is
    processed after unformatted one is processed.
  
  If the user id of IMS HP Image Copy job is not permitted
  update access by RACF, the image copy process is failed.
  
  Image copy function obtains data set allocation
  information such as record length and block size by SHOWCB
  macro when the database data set is empty and unformatted.
  Image Copy function changes access mode to PUT mode from
  GET mode for issuing SHOWCB. Once access mode of ACB is
  changed, IMS HP Image Copy does not reset it, then following
  non-empty data set is also accessed with update mode.
  
  Necessary allocation information of VSAM exists in the OS
  catalog, so Image Copy function should refer it.
  

Problem conclusion

• Image Copy function of IMS HP Image Copy has been modified to
  obtain necessary allocation information from catalog.
