• Db2 Admin Tool/ Object compare
  
  Adding new column to existing primary key of a table is
  dropping/recreating the index instead of alter index add column.
   This is a destructive change when it isn't required. The tool
  should do an alter where it can versus going for drop/recreate.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When a compare results in a new column  *
  *                      being added, compare performs a DROP    *
  *                      and CREATE of the index instead of the  *
  *                      preferred ALTER INDEX ADD COLUMN.       *
  ****************************************************************
  When a compare results in adding a column to an index on the
  target, Compare takes the approach of dropping and creating the
  index. This approach is more disruptive, as Db2 supports
  ALTER INDEX ADD COLUMN. The better approach is to generate an
  ALTER INDEX instead of the current behavior where the index is
  dropped and created.
