Error description

  • The plugin log (at DEBUG level or more verbose) will show
    entries prior to the crash:
DEBUG: ws_common: websphereShouldHandleRequest: ODR will not
    handle request <uri of request>
    DEBUG: mod_was_ap24_http: in as_logger

The crash stack will vary because plugin is referencing memory
after is has been freed. The crash can occur in a variety of
    locations.

    ****************************************************************
When the WebSphere plugin has processed a request which will
not be forwarded to WebSphere, it releases the memory it has
associated with the request but did not clear the storage
location. The module references the memory location after it
has been freed which causes the web server to crash.

Problem conclusion

  • The plugin module has been corrected to clear the reference to
the memory after releasing to prevent the crash.
