APAR status

Error description

  • The IBM Transformation Extender 9.0.0 Command Server on
    z/OS (TXCMDSV) ends with RC12.
    
    The problem has been observed with large input data.
    
    Joblog indicates the job ended with the following error:
    
    EDC5121I Invalid argument.
    Seek failed for sysname DD:SYSTMP03, offset -2028820603, mode 0
    Map execution terminated from ./mvs.c 5153

Problem summary

  • Users Affected:
    IBM Transformation Extender z/OS batch users with handleIn
    greater than 2 gig.
    
    Problem Description:
    JOB with large input ends with - Seek failed for sysname
    DD:SYSTMP##, offset -2028820603, mode 0  - Map execution
    terminated from ./mvs.c 5153
    
    Platforms Affected:
    64 bit z/OS batch.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Fixed "handlein" when passing data that is greater than 2 gig or
    offset from beginning of file is greater than 2 gig. Previously
    if the offset or length would go negative, and cause a seek
    error.
    
    Applies to:
    9.0.0.4
    
    Fixed in the next service packs and releases.
