PH33058: DB2 ADMIN TOOL GEN: MISHANDLING GRANT UNLOAD AUTHORIZATION FOR TABLES

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The GRANT UNLOAD privilege was introduced in Db2 v12 FL100. It
  can be issued successfully in FL100, but is not actually used
  until FL500. However, GEN does not produce the GRANT UNLOAD
  statement when the target FL is 100.
  
  Further, if the target db2 version is less than 12, and UNLOAD
  was the only privilege granted GEN will produce an invalid GRANT
  statement.
  
  In both cases, the following may be generated:
  
  GRANT ON TABLE schema.tablename TO userid;
  
  The UNLOAD parameter is missing.

  This APAR addresses the following issues regarding the GRANT
  UNLOAD table privilege:
  
  1. GEN does not generate the GRANT UNLOAD privilege for Db2 12
     function level 100 (V12R1M100).
  
  2. If the UNLOAD privilege is the only applicable privilege, and
     the target Db2 version is lower than 12, an invalid GRANT
     statement is produced.
  
  Example:
  GRANT ON TABLE T1.TABLE01 TO userid;
  
  3. On panel ADB2GENB, the "Current Db2 FL" value is not used
     by GEN if the "Target Function Level" field is not populated.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem has been resolved.
